kvirc software package provides KDE-based next generation IRC client with module support, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kvirc
kvirc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kvirc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kvirc *
You will get with kvirc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
